POSITION: Line Cook
SALARY: $11 - $13.00 hourly, negotiable based on experience
DESCRIPTION: We are looking for an experienced, hard-working, team player to join the Julienne's restaurant.The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience on the line in a busy restaurant or hotel atmosphere. Must understand customer service, be detail-oriented and have a passion for food.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year working on the line, other food service experience (prep, steward) considered an asset
EDUCATION: Completion of high school.
LANGUAGES: Speak English, Read English, Write English
WORK SETTING: Café and Catering
WORK LOCATION: Downtown Halifax
RESPONSIBILTIES: Prepare and cook meals in a fast-paced environment, Ensure quality of food and determine size of food proportions, Work with minimal supervision, Inspect kitchens and food service areas, Work with specialized cooking equipment, Clean kitchen and work areas, Assisting to open or close the front line according to established procedures, Preparation and set up of the line, having all mis en place according to prep list, Maintain and promote a safe work environment,
ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Reading text, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Time management, Finding information, Continuous learning, Must be able to stand for eight hours.
