Qualifications
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
- Completion of college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience is required
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience as a hairstylist is required
- Ontario Hairstylist Licence is required
- Experience in permanents including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent is required
Job duties
- Hair Colouring duties
Streaking/highlights; Bleach; Dyes/tints; Ombre; Balayage
- Hair Styling duties
Permanents (including Japanese hair straightening and digital permanent); Iron waving/curling; Spiking; Roller setting; Pin curls; Blow drying; Hair braiding;Updo
- Hairstylist Specific duties
Clean and style wigs and hair pieces; Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features or determine style from client's instructions and preferences; Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm
and style hair; Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair; Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak

- Barber Specific duties
Cut and trim hair with scissors and clippers according to clients’ instructions or preferences
- Additional duties
Supervise other hair stylists and other staff; Shampoo customers' hair; Perform receptionist duties; Maintain and order supplies; Book appointments; Provide hair treatment
