Salary: $18.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Qualifications

- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required

- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years is required

- 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience as a pastry chef including at least 1 year of experience as Chocolatier is required


Job duties

- Plan new chocolate products and business strategy, together with the Owner Chef

- Plan and create recipes for chocolate products

- Prepare and make chocolate products

- Ensure products meet quality standards of Duo Patisserie and Cafe and regulations

- Estimate ingredients/food requirements and cost

- Maintain records of ingredients/food costs, consumption, and inventory

- Analyze operating costs and other data for new chocolate products

- Requisition ingredients, food, and kitchen supplies

- Train pastry cooks and pastry production helpers in preparation, cooking and handling of ingredients/food

- Instruct pastry cooks and pastry production helpers in preparation, making, garnishing and presentation of chocolate products

- Supervise pastry cooks and pastry production helpers

- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to pastry cooks and pastry production helpers
