Qualifications
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
- Completion of secondary (high) school is required
- 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience as a cook/chef in an established restaurant is required.
- Experience of working in a Japanese restaurant and/or knowledge on Japanese cuisine are assets
Job duties
- Prepare and cook Japanese Ramen noodle dishes and other Japanese tapas/appetizers;
- Prepare stock for ramen noodle dishes;
- Plan special menus for the location;
- Ensure food meets quality standards of Kinton Ramen;
- Instruct and direct cooks in preparation, garnishing and presentation of food and in new cooking techniques;
- Supervise cooks and kitchen staff;
- Plan and create new menus and recipes;
- Control and manage requisition of food, kitchen supplies, and equipment;
- Oversee kitchen operation;
- Update and implement kitchen operation;
- Estimate food requirements based on the sales forecast or the number of reservations received for the day
