Qualifications

- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
- Completion of secondary (high) school is required
- 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience as a cook/chef in a restaurant is required
- Experience of working in a Japanese restaurant and/or Knowledge on Japanese cuisine are assets

Job duties

- Prepare and cook all varieties of Japanese dishes and foods including appetizers, salads, soups, sashimi, deep-fired and grilled dishes, noodles, and desserts, all of which feature Japanese ingredients and/or cooking techniques;
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards of Don Don Izakaya;
- Instruct and direct cooks in preparation, garnishing and presentation of regular food menus and in new cooking techniques;
- Supervise activities of 5 to 10 cooks and kitchen staff;
- Create new menus and recipes featuring Japanese cuisine;
- Oversee kitchen operation;
- Recruit and hire staff according to the recruitment policy of Don Don Izakaya
