Qualifications
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
- Completion of secondary (high) school is required
- 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook in a restaurant is required
Job duties
- Prepare and cook complete individual dishes and foods that feature Japanese and Asian ingredients and cooking techniques including Tempra, Sashimi, Sushi, Teriyaki and Sukiyaki (Japanese hot pot);
- Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs to meet restaurant's standard;
- Keep kitchens and food service areas clean and sanitized;
- Supervise other kitchen staff and train them in preparation, cooking and handling of food including raw fish and seafood;
- Maintain inventory, monitor records of food, supplies and equipment and order supplies and equipment as necessary;
- Organize and manage banquets for wedding, events and dinner parties;
- Manage kitchen operations
