Qualifications
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
- Completion of secondary (high) school is required
- 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook/chef in a restaurant is required
- Experience of working in a Sushi restaurant is asset
Job duties
- Prepare and cook high quality Sushi and other Japanese dishes per standard recipes to ensure consistency of all food;
- Ensure strict compliance with the restaurant's guideline, standards and procedures including but not limited to food hygiene and work safety;
- Manage food cost with effective inventory, portion, surpluses and wastage controls;
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of Sushi and Japanese dishes;
- Supervise activities of 5 to 10 cooks and kitchen staff;
- Expected to contribute ideas and suggestions to operational improvement
