We are currently seeking a full-time Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Operations Team at our Unity Evaporation Plant site in Unity, Saskatchewan.

The Unity Evaporation Plant is located in a friendly community of 2,500 that loves hockey and curling, situated in the beautiful big-sky prairies, an hour from North Battleford and a 2 hour drive from Saskatoon. We’re proud to be one of Unity’s steadfast employers, currently employing 55-60 people. Annually, we produce 135,000 tons of food grade, water conditioning and agricultural salt, serving our customers throughout Western Canada.

How will you contribute to the team?
• Uses and maintains tools and equipment, performs general maintenance and inspections, organizes work, and performs routine trade activities
• Diagnoses and repair engines and engine support systems
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic systems
• Diagnose and repair drive train systems
• Diagnose and repair steering, suspension, brake systems, wheel assemblies, and undercarriage
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems and electronic vehicle management systems
• Diagnose and repair environmental control systems
• Diagnose and repair structural components, accessories and attachments
• Ability to understand manufacturer’s operating instruction books, follow complex oral and/or written instructions
• Clear understanding to accurately perform safety and regulatory responsibilities (i.e. equipment, safe work procedures, etc.)
• Ability to demonstrate leadership in troubleshooting, repair and resolve operational issues
• Cleaning duties as required

You bring to the role:
• Journeyperson certificate for Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy Duty Agriculture Mechanic
• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word
• Experience in E1/JD Edwards ERP is an asset.
• Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces.
• Must be able to work in hot temperatures and climb steps as required
• 10 hour work days, overtime as required
• Experience with turbine and generator operating in a cogeneration environment, in a process-related industry, be knowledgeable about process equipment and control systems, and be flexible to different task assignments.
• Ability to multi-task, have a high sense of urgency with regards to operational requirements and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
