The Dhillon School of Business (DSB), Lethbridge Campus requires a part-time (0.5 FTE) Administrative I Support position to commence work April 1, 2024.

We are seeking an individual with exceptional organizational and customer service skills, as well as excellent attention to detail, who will contribute positively to the effectiveness of the Faculty and the DSB student experience.

The position is physically located in the DSB Undergraduate Programs Advising Office in Markin Hall, reporting to the Associate Dean. The successful candidate has two main roles: as receptionist directing student inquiries (phone, email, and in-person), and retrieving information for advisors for student meetings; and providing back-office support to create, maintain, and archive student files as well as retrieving, compiling, and reporting data for student related processes such as course enrolment, graduation, and honour lists. Emailing students about status changes related to their programs and supporting other faculty business processes such as textbook ordering and DSB event logistics will also be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and one full year of work experience in a post-secondary or other student focused setting. A two-year office administration diploma and two or more years of experience in a post-secondary institution is preferred.

Superior customer service and interpersonal skills as well as good written and spoken communication skills are required for this position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to multitask and maintain effective working relationships with a close-knit team as well as other stakeholders. They will be able to work independently within a team structure, exercise sound judgment, have excellent attention to detail and professional discretion. Candidates should also be able to maintain and document routine office protocols to support an orderly and efficient working environment for all staff in the office.

Proven administrative skills include computer skills in a PC environment, a strong understanding of email, word processing and spreadsheet software including doing mail merges, experience in data retrieval and compilation, and digital record keeping and filing skills. Knowledge of the university environment and community would be an asset.

HIRING SALARY RANGE:

$1,824.00 – 2,017.50 monthly
